WEEKENDERS WARRIORS

Here are the conquerors of the weekend, a hall of fame of sorts highlighting those who dare to explore, who leave behind the mundane in a constant pursuit of adventure. Read their stories, admire their triumphs, hear their advice, and follow in their footsteps, and you, one day, can also be a WEEKENDER.

Introducing, Graham Stirling-Moffet!

Our man, Graham, was simply made for the outdoors. He doesn’t just aim to have just an “average” trip when he travels through Canada. He challenges himself to go above and beyond and push his limits. He has been working in the industry for over four years as a raft guide and whitewater canoe instructor. In particular, he’s been working with Black Feather, a wilderness adventure company, for two years. He’s explored many of Ontario’s gems, like dog sledding in Algonquin, whitewater canoeing and much, much more. Today, he continues to discover the amazing wilderness areas throughout Ontario and beyond, both on his own and with Black Feather. Check out some amazing photos of Graham’s adventures!

Introducing, Kieran Kellam

Here he is, our week 2 Weekend Warrior, Kieran Kellam. During the weekdays, when Kieran isn't at the gym trying to stay in good shape, he spends his time in Joseph Stauffer Library, daydreaming about what is waiting for him on the weekend. But once Saturday rolls around, it’s a whole different story. Kieran enjoys getting out into the wilderness and taking advantage of the nature that surrounds him in any way that he can, whether it be going for a run along the lake or going for a hike in the woods, the only place you won't find this guy is on his couch. His passion for nature and the outdoors has introduced Kieran to quite the hobby... Shredding down mountain bike trails and weaving in and out of tress at 80km/h. This hobby of his has brought him all over the country, from Whistler to Mont Tremblant, but when there is no country-wide road trip involved, he takes his two wheels and explores trails around the GTA.

“We might not have the tallest mountains, but the countless trails, awesome riding community and picturesque summer nights keep me coming back.”

Some of Kieran’s favorite riding spots are Blue Mountain, Porcupine Ridge, and the Don Valley, located right in the heart of Toronto. Other than riding, Kieran is an avid outdoorsman, He's trekked to the far northern reaches of Ontario, hiked through the alpines of Ecuador and sea kayaked alongside whales in BC. The most awe-inspiring though, canoeing over a distance of over 1000km down the Missinabi River and fly-finishing at the entrance of James Bay in the Native reserve of Moose River.

But if you're looking for Kieran and he's not hiking Ecuadorian alps, kayaking along side whales, fly-fishing in the Missinabi river, trailblazing northern Ontario, or shredding down trails at ridiculous speeds, you'll he's probably barefoot on a dock at his Muskoka cottage, soaking in some rays with a *beverage* in his hand, enjoying a well-deserved break.
